What PTE Core scores are required for CLB 7?
The current Government of Canada table maps CLB 7 to Listening 60–70, Reading 60–68, Speaking 68–75 and Writing 69–78. When a program requires CLB 7 in every ability, each score must meet its own range.
What PTE Core scores are required for CLB 9?
PTE Core CLB 9 maps to Listening 82–88, Reading 78–87, Speaking 84–88 and Writing 88–89. The four targets are different and should be checked separately.

The minimum Listening scores for CLB 4–10 are 28, 39, 50, 60, 71, 82 and 89; Reading 33, 42, 51, 60, 69, 78 and 88; Speaking 42, 51, 59, 68, 76, 84 and 89; Writing 41, 51, 60, 69, 79, 88 and 90.
What CLB is a PTE Core score of 50, 60, 70 or 80?
The same score maps differently by skill. A score of 50 is Listening CLB 6, Reading CLB 5, Speaking CLB 4 and Writing CLB 4; 60 maps to 7, 7, 6 and 6; 70 maps to 7, 8, 7 and 7; 80 maps to 8, 9, 8 and 8.
Can an overall PTE Core score be converted to CLB?
No. IRCC uses the individual Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing results. An overall PTE Core score does not replace the four separate CLB comparisons.
