Read and hear a situation before responding
The prompt describes an everyday situation in up to about 60 words. You have 20 seconds to prepare and 40 seconds to say what you would actually say.
Identify the listener, purpose and required points
The relationship sets the tone; a request, explanation, reminder, apology or complaint sets the opening. Add two or three prompt-specific points and the desired outcome.
Use a structure, not unrelated memorised content
A purpose–points–action structure is reusable, but the people, tone and details must come from the current situation. Do not repeat ideas only to fill time.
